Stephanie Edwards' Bio:

In 1968 Stephanie Edwards left her Minnesota dairy-farm home and her Alma Maters, St. Olaf College and The University of Minnesota, to move to Los Angeles. In the years since, she has enjoyed a varied career that includes 15 appearances on The Tonight Show, co-starring roles in three network series and two films, numerous guest appearances on episodic television, six years of Summer Stock, and even (early on) a season on the road as piano accompanist for a singing group. It was when she expressed interest in interviewing, however, to none other than the respected newsman and broadcaster, Ralph Story, that she found her niche, and is now known to the industry and audiences as one of the country’s brightest and most articulate telejournalists.

At Mr. Story’s suggestion, Stephanie auditioned for and was hired as co-host of a live, daily talk show on KCBS TV in Los Angeles. Soon, thereafter, KABC hired her to co-host, with Mr. Story, Ralph Story’s A.M. This was the prototype upon which ABC network modeled Good Morning America. At the end of nearly four happy years on the air with her mentor, Stephanie was asked to move to New York to co-host that early network effort (Then called “ A.M. America”). After seven months there, she requested release from her contract and returned to Los Angeles.

Since that time, Stephanie has worked almost continuously on either commercials or Public TV. (Some of the network or syndicated shows hosted by her include Leave it to the Women, Everyday, and Medix.) She is in her 19th year (on L.A. Channel 5’s syndicated broadcast) as co-host with Bob Eubanks of The Tournament of Roses Parade each January 1st.

Stephanie has recently enjoyed a stint as disc-jockey/host of The Stephanie Edwards Show on daily, live radio station KGIL in Los Angeles; and as co-host with Sam Rubin at Channel 5, Monday through Friday mornings, on The Live Show. She just completed 18 months of hosting a live 3-hour call-in show at KIEV Radio and an evening radio program, 7:00-8:00 P.M. on KKLA Radio, both in Los Angeles (and internationally via the internet).

She is married to businessman Murray MacLeod.
