Betty Ferguson Foundation Woman of Honor

The Betty Ferguson Foundation is holding their Woman of Honor Dinner and Auction at the Valencia Hyatt on July 31. This year they are honoring Dianne White Crawford for her ability to give hope to women who have or have had breast cancer. All profits from Dianne’s company, Pink Ribbon Gifts, go to support the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center.
Stephanie Edwards will be the mistress of ceremonies for this event. Edwards has enjoyed a varied career that includes appearances on numerous television and radio talk shows and episodic series. Of course, she is best known as the co-host of the Tournament of Roses Parade for the last 19 years. Edwards has previously been a guest speaker for the Betty Ferguson Foundation for the “Heart of Mes Amies” luncheon in 2001.
The guest speaker for this event is Laura Diaz, co-anchor of CBS 2 News. Diaz, a graduate of Hart High School, has won numerous Emmys, awards and honors throughout her career. She started as a reporter in

Fresno, then moved to KABC-TV. In 1997, she became part of television history when she was named to lead anchor the station’s centerpiece 5 and 11 p.m. broadcasts. That promotion made her the first Hispanic to ever hold such a prestigious position at a Los Angeles television station. In 2002, Diaz joined CBS.
The live auction portion for this event will include: A Holland American cruise, sponsored by Paul J. Frease of Cruise Holidays of Santa Clarita, value of $4,000, air fare not included; One week at the Pueblo Bonito Resort in Mazatlan, donated by Myrna and Jerry Shepro, value approximately $1,300, air fare not included; A diamond and ruby pendant, donated by Ro, Ma Jewelers, value approximately $1,400; two-night stay at Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch in Carmel Valley, donated by Mission Ranch, value approximately $500, view meadow room; Signed book from Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, value: priceless; Catered dinner for eight by RSVP Catering, donated by Cindy Smith and Tamra Levine, value approximately $800; Specialty wines, donated by David LaFollette, Tandam Wines, value $450 per six bottles. Ed Masterson will be the Auctioneer. Wine for the evening is donated by Yoon Lee and Jeannie and Chris Carpenter.
